An RCD is a residual-current device, also known as a safety switch. The device is designed to monitor the electrical current and disconnect the power when a leak is detected from a fault in wiring, an appliance or a switch.

Test and Tag is a system where our electricians will test all the electrical equipment in a workplace for faults ensuring it is safe to be used by employees. The electrician will then attach a tag to the piece of equipment stating the date it was tested and when the next test is due.

In many cases, lights flicker because of an outdated electrical system. If this is the case, your electrical panel or wiring will need to be replaced. In other cases, it can be a loose wire, insufficient power supply, or another appliance on a circuit drawing too much power. Regardless, it is best to have the problem inspected by a licensed electrician.

Halogen and incandescent lights can get very hot and the heat that they generate is responsible for 80% of the energy they use. LED lights do not generate the heat, the energy they generate goes into the light they put out.

LED lights are long lasting – LED lights can last between 60,000 and 80,000 hours while an incandescent bulb lasts for 1500 hours.
